First Look – DFS Week 4

What an insane start to the 2021 NFL season! Three straight injury-filled weeks have derailed DFS success. While I’ve cashed out at a 100% rate through the first 3 weeks, I’ve not been able to reach the ceiling due to injuries to players I’ve been heavily targeting each week. It can be frustrating, but that’s the beauty of DFS – we get to start all over again with a clean slate each week, so let’s jump into the First Look and pinpoint some games that stand out and check some salaries that jump out to us for this week.

Games and Players To Look At:

Tennessee Titans @ New York Jets – At first glance, this doesn’t feel like one that would be worth targeting for GPP, but it does jump out to me as a sneaky play. The over/under is set at 45.5, so that’s not great and likely won’t draw a lot of attention from the field outside of Derrick Henry, who should be chalk this week. I feel like this one could hit the over and provide some value. The Titans secondary is not very good, so Zach Wilson and company may be able to push the pace of play in this matchup and keep up offensively to drive the numbers up.

Ryan Tannehill – $6,300

Derrick Henry – $8,800

Julio – $6,500

Zach Wilson – $5,000

Corey Davis – $5,000

Washington Football Team @ Atlanta Falcons – This one is really interesting. The over/under is set at a nice 48.5. One of the toughest parts of playing DFS is finding the right stacking combinations if you’re targeting teams with multiple great wide receiver options. This matchup doesn’t present that challenge. Pitts has been a huge letdown through the first few weeks. Calvin Ridley is as close to a sure thing as you can hope for. On the other side of the ball, it’s Terry McLaurin.

Taylor Heinicke – $5,900

Antonio Gibson – $6,100

Terry McLaurin – $6,900

Matt Ryan – $5,400

Calvin Ridley – $7,000

Houston Texans @ Buffalo Bills – This one should be a blowout. The over/under is set at 48.5 and the Bills are favored by an eye-popping 16.5. Josh Allen got back on track last week and looks to carry that momentum to week 4. Stefon Diggs has only averaged 14.7ppg on Draft Kings so far, but I look for that to turn around in a big way against Houston. Emmanuel Sanders is averaging 14.1ppg and is $2,700 cheaper. It’s also time to start respecting Brandin Cooks – he’s averaging 22.6ppg with a less-than-ideal quarterback situation. If you want to target the Bills stack, you can run it back with Cooks and be in great position.

Josh Allen – $8,000

Stefon Diggs – $7,600

Emmanuel Sanders – $4,900

Brandin Cooks – $6,400

Kansas City Chiefs @ Philadelphia Eagles – The Chiefs have dropped two straight and while that may be bad news for Philadelphia, it’s great news for DFS players. We’ve mentioned on the show that targeting Chiefs stacks are tough due to their high salaries. I stand by that, but want to mention it’s not impossible. If you decide to go that route, it just puts a ton of pressure to get every other roster spot correct. On the Eagles side of the ball, Hurts and company are going to be forced to push the pace of play and keep up offensively. This game has an over/under set at 54.5 with the Chiefs favored by 6, so plenty of points up for grabs on both sides.

Patrick Mahomes – $8,100

Clyde Edwards-Helaire – $5,400

Tyreek Hill – $8,000

Travis Kelce – $8,100

Jalen Hurts – $6,900

Devonta Smith – $5,700

Miles Sanders – $6,400

Dallas Goedert – $4,800

Arizona Cardinals @ Los Angeles Rams – Two incredible offenses and a high over/under mean a lot of attention will be on this game. I’m not saying fade the game, but understand that you’ll have to get different elsewhere to separate from the herd.

Kyler Murray – $7,800

Chase Edmonds – $5,500

DeAndre Hopkins – $7,700

Christian Kirk – $5,300

Rondale Moore – $4,600

Matthew Stafford – $7,000

Darrell Henderson – $5,600

Cooper Kupp – $7,800

Robert Woods – $5,300
