I’m doing something a little different this week. Instead of giving a player the blame for a fantasy loss, I’m going to give to someone who has basically wrecked this player’s season. I’m looking at you, Bill O’Brien!
Bill O’Brien was operating as both Head Coach and General Manager during his time with the Houston Texans. He traded away most of their draft picks for Laremy Tunsil and then traded arguably the best wide receiver in the league, DeAndre Hopkins, for pennies on the dollar. I can only imagine the look on Deshaun Watson’s face when he heard that news. Watson’s go-to receiver was headed to Arizona in exchange for a below-average running back with a terrible contract and a bag of Dorito’s. This move had a ripple effect on this entire season.
O’Brien lost his job early in the season, but I like to think he never lost his sense of humor. He has to be laughing while watching Deshaun Watson run for his life every week and throw to a bunch of Regal Cinema employees. I feel like I can speak for the Deshaun Watson fantasy owners worldwide when I say this: Bill O’Brien is evil! The job he did in Houston was nothing short of pure evil.
I don’t know what Deshaun Watson did to him, but he looks like Adam Sandler in The Longest Yard when the convicts find out about his deal with the warden and they stop blocking for him. Thank God he runs a 4.6 40-yard dash. Bill O’Brien deserves the blame for each and every fantasy owner who has lost this season because of Watson being chased around the field every other down.
